China implements visa waiver for 5 South American countries

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced recently a visa exemption pilot policy for ordinary passport holders from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay that commences on June 1.  

During the 12-month trial program, citizens of the aforementioned countries will be exempt from visa requirements on stays of up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges or transit stays.
